Henrik
Danford-Klein, President
Henrik Danford-Klein is President of Radical Logistics. Henrik is widely recognized as one of the
leading logistics and transportation modeling experts, as well as one of the
premier experts on decision support tools. Born in Denmark, Henrik graduated from the Technical University of Denmark
with a Masters in Engineering with primary focus on Operations Research and
Systems Design. Henrik started his
carrier at CAPS Logistics as Associate Director for Client Services. In this
role he provided internal and external logistics modeling support, system
development support, and expert CAPS TOOLKIT support covering logistics
problems such as sourcing, assignment, allocation, location, inventory
control, transportation mode selection, freight consolidation, POE-analysis,
shipment planning, production and distribution scheduling, multi-day fixed
route planning, and dynamic routing. He was widely regarded as the leading
CAPS expert on Supply Chain modeling, and was used repeatedly as a resource
for time-critical or unusually difficult projects. In this role Henrik
repeatedly provided high quality and extremely cost-effective solutions to
difficult problems in very short time frames.
His biggest accomplishment at CAPS was the design and development of the
original CAPS Routing and Network Design Platforms. These were the foundation
for the current CAPS Supply Chain Designer and Route Pro as well as all other
vertical tools that CAPS has developed over the years. CAPS Logistics went through several
acquisitions and is now part of INFOR. In 1993, Henrik joined Schneider National, the largest truck load carrier
in North America, where he started as Senior Director of Logistics
Engineering for Schneider Logistics. In this role he was responsible for
identifying savings for existing and potential customers through supply chain
analysis, with focus on physical distribution and transportation. He then became Senior Director of Decision
Technology at, where he was responsible for the development of decision
support and optimization tools. Among his accomplishments was the development
of the most sophisticated freight optimization tools in the industry, pieces
of which were patented. Some of the truly unique characteristics of these
decision support tools were their ease of use, sophisticated user interfaces
and exceptional build quality, in addition their advanced optimization
capabilities. In 1997 Henrik left Schneider and Green Bay, and went to Chicago, where he
became Director of Network Design for Sears Logistics. In that role he was
responsible for optimizing the Sears Logistics Network by lowering cost and
improving service. Among his accomplishments in that position was the
responsibility for developing several highly advanced and comprehensive
models of the Sears distribution network. The models was used for store
realignment and DC location studies, and resulted in savings of over five
million dollars. In 2000, Henrik launched Radical Logistics. Through Radical, Henrik has worked with a wide variety of companies in both a consulting role, as well as a provider of logistics software. Companies include Ford Motors, Baxter Renal, Staples, Dell, Ingram Micro, Office Max, and United Stationers. In addition to managing Radical Logistics, Henrik is Director of Logistics for LagasseSweet. Henrik lives in Chicago, with his wife Amy, and his three kids Erik, Jade and Mia. |
