Logistics Edge Releases Transportation Management System and Changes
Company Name to Radical Logistics
ATHENS, GA November 15, 2001 Logistics Edge, a
developer of intuitive transportation software solutions, today announced
the commercial release of LoadPlanner, a transportation management system
(TMS) designed for mid-market 3rd party logistics providers. The company
also announced that it has changed its name to Radical Logistics.
The feedback on LoadPlanner from both customers and prospects has
been overwhelmingly consistent---our TMS is radically different,
remarked Brynn Runkle Conover, co-founder and President of Radical Logistics,
and carefully designed to support the way logistics providers implement
and use a TMS. In order to highlight our unique approach, we decided to
change our company name to Radical Logistics.
LoadPlanner offers a broad range of functionality that includes shipment
rating and consolidation, load tendering, visibility, and reporting. The
systems advanced data management approach allows several planners
to build line hauls and the local pickup and delivery routes simultaneously
with the same shipments. LoadPlanner is also designed for organizational
teamwork providing transportation planners as well as customer service
representatives the capability to consolidate shipments, add new shipments,
price options, and track in-transit loads.
Radical Logistics has already implemented the LoadPlanner system at freightPro.com
in Kansas City, a leading provider of transactional logistics. Our
vision is to provide tools that enhance the way people work, said
Henrik Danford-Klein, co-founder, and CEO of Radical Logistics. We
literally put the Operations and IT personnel at freightPro.com in the
drivers seat to develop a TMS solution that fit their current business
needs but will also grow with them as their shipping volumes increase.
The management team at Radical Logistics combines industry experience
gained at leading logistics organizations including Schneider Logistics,
Sears, CAPS Logistics and Georgia Tech. In addition to Danford-Klein and
President Brynn Runkle Conover the team includes Vice President of Applications
John Kring.
